2) the electrical connections must be such that the mandatory lamp can be switched on only when reverse gear is engaged and when the device controlling engine starting and stopping is in a position that permits engine operation. The electrical connections of optional lamps must be such that these lamps cannot illuminate when the position lamps are not switched on. Additional lamps installed on the side of an M2, M3, N or O category vehicle over 6000 mm long may be switched on for slow manoeuvres in the direction of travel at a vehicle speed of up to 10 km/h, provided that the following conditions are met:

a) the lamps are switched on and off manually using a separate switch

b) when switched on in this way, they may remain active after reverse gear has been disengaged;

c) if the vehicle's speed in the direction of travel exceeds 10 km/h, the lamps must switch off automatically regardless of the switch position; in this case, the lamps must remain switched off until they are deliberately switched on again;

3) the height of the reversing lamp above the road surface must be at least 250 mm, but must not exceed 1200 mm;

5) the reversing lamp must bear the marking AR
